The outer vellum has script on both sides and is dated 1755 the inner pages are questions/notes on mathematics- and are dated 1802. The pages are bound together with waxed twine. This pale blue parchment has wonderful raggy edges. It has a waxed vellum outer cover with a batch of 37 pale blue handmade paper parchment pages inside with numbers mathematical problems. Framing and a wonderful source of old sepia ink script for any decorative vintage projects. I love old French manuscripts- perfect for interiors props. These are sold as-is no returns because of the delicate nature of these 200-400 year old vellum and early paper maps. There are discolorations as well as small spots and original creasing. Again I will say these are all very very old every one of these pieces have some damage to the outer edges as expected for their age. The ink is in great condition and there is no bleeding through simply a must see. Last but not least we hhandwritten vellum letters there aren't words to describe these extremely old hand written letters they are readable and clear one is dated the other is not. Sir John Lowther was a captain and commander during the Scottish border wars and was also the High Sheriff 1516,1543,1551 additionally he was the commander of Carlisle Castle and he lived from 1487-1551 this is a rare find. After some searching I found some info on him. more dedicated this map to Sir John Lowther of Lowther Hall. The 4th map says Ric Blome Map of West Moreland. 3rd we have a 1695 Rob Morden map of England this one jumps right out at you with it's simple but amazing engravings as with the others this is a rare map and hard to find. 2nd we have a 1690 Coronelli map of Germania it is a beautiful map and speaks volumes to the craftsman's abilities this is a hard to find map. 1st one is a Morell-Fecerunt Map of Alsatia Milliaria Germania it is a stunning map with amazing craftsmanship in the engraving and there isn't another for sale anywhere. Please look carefully these are VERY OLD they are not in perfect condition because they are 200-400 + years old. PRICE DROPPED!
